Just a reminder that we will be having a family fun time together here at the church on Saturday October 31st. We will have a time of fun and fellowship here together and look forward to seeing you here at 5pm
I love to laugh and I hope the following list will give you a laugh and brighten your day. From time to time I will post some of the funny things I find or funny things kids do. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 17:22 A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones. Enjoy the following list.
Thing Parents Have Learned From Their Children
• There is no such thing as child-proofing your house.
• A 4 year old's voice is louder than 200 adults in a crowded restaurant.
• When you hear the toilet flush and the words "Uh-oh;" it's already too late.
• If you hook a dog leash over a ceiling fan, the motor is not strong enough to rotate a 42-pound boy wearing Pound Puppy underwear and a Superman cape.
• It is strong enough however to spread paint on all four walls of a 20 by 20 foot room.
• Always look in the oven before you turn it on.
• Quiet does not necessarily mean don't worry.
• Brake fluid mixed with Clorox makes smoke, and lots of it.
• Marbles in gas tanks make lots of noise when driving.
• Play Dough and Microwave should never be used in the same sentence.
• Super glue is forever.
• Garbage bags do not make good parachutes.
• The spin cycle on the washing machine does not make earth worms dizzy.
• It will however make cats dizzy.
• Cats throw up twice their body weight when dizzy.
• You should not throw baseballs up when the ceiling fan is on.
• When using the ceiling fan as a bat you have to throw the ball up a few times before you get a hit.
• A ceiling fan can hit a baseball a long way.
• The glass in windows (even double pane) doesn't stop a baseball hit by a ceiling fan.
• If you use a waterbed as home plate while wearing baseball shoes it does not leak - it explodes.
• A king size waterbed holds enough water to fill a 2000-square-foot house four inches deep.
• A 6 year old can start a fire with a flint rock even though a 36-year-old man says they can only do it in the movies.
God bless and keep looking for His return it could be any moment now.

Matthew 19:13-15 Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence.
Every time I read this passage of scripture tears well up in my eyes at the importance that children held in the heart of our Lord. Can you imagine what it was like to a little child in the arms of our Savior? I love what the last part of the verse says"..he laid hands on them, and departed thence." As I was reading this I realized that we sometimes overlook the importance of our children to the kingdom, and the church. But Jesus clearly said "for such(the children) is the kingdom of heaven." I am so blessed to be a small part in the lives of the children here at Grace and to be able to teach them, pray for them and help them. God has blessed us here at Grace with some wonderful children, all of whom Lesa and I love as our own. We ask that you keep them in your prayers that God will use our children to be the Godly generation that our country and world so desperately need.
I want to remind everyone that we will be meeting at the church on the 31st of October at 5pm to have a family fun night. It is a chance to get together and fellowship and allow the children to play and have fun together. We will send out a note to help remind everyone, but please mark your calendars now and come out and enjoy a night with your church family. We always have a lot of fun, and we will miss you if you are not there. Hope to see you then, God bless you all.

Birmingham Zoo Trip, Photos, and Thank Yous
With the threat of rain in the forecast we made our way up to the Birmingham Zoo Saturday morning. God blessed us by holding off the rain for the bulk of our visit. We had one downpour at the beginning of our time in the zoo, which wet all of us, but, we had a great time together in spite of the rain. The kids had fun and enjoyed all the things that they were able to do and see. A few items of note that happened on our visit included; the white Bengal tiger that got a little irritated with us, feeding the lorikeets, (which entails entering their cage and letting them land on you and eat from your hand) and watching the white rhinos fighting. It was a great time that we all enjoyed together and we look forward to many more memories with our children and their families.
Also I want to mention all the adults and teens who went along and helped watch the kids and help us keep them safe. Thank you to Bro John and Ms Marge, Bro Jim and Ms Amanda, Ms Rachael, Tori and Becca Stackhouse, Moriah Thompson, Chelsea Wagnon, Ms Tracey, Ms Jennifer, Ms Alisa, Pastor Tim, Ms Monica, and Ms Lesa. Thank all of you so much, I had a great time with you all and I am so thankful for your help. Also special thanks to Pastor Tim for driving the 30 passenger van. I am so glad and blessed to be part of such a great church family and I love you all, God bless, Bro Roger.

Children's Church and Zoo Trip
Isn't it a blessing to have children? I am so blessed to have 3 of my own and about 30-40 that belong to the families of our church that Lesa and myself get to be part of their lives each week by teaching them the Word of God. It is a blessing to be able to work with these children. I am always touched by their receptiveness to God's Word and often pray that God will make us as adults as receptive as our children. Please keep each one of our precious ones in your prayers as they are in school and sports that God will protect them and watch over them.
Our next activity will be Saturday, September 26, we will meeet at the church at 7:15 am... yes... am... I know its early but the kids are going to love this trip to the Birmingham Zoo. We will spend a few hours at the zoo, eat lunch, and see a few animal shows before returning. We will arrive back at the church around 3pm Saturday afternoon. Check back next week and we have a few photos from our trip. God bless you all and we will see you Saturday morning.

First blog for kids of Grace

Hey kids and parents welcome to the first of many blogs that I will be writing to encourage, excite, inform, and share all that is going on with the children's ministry here at Grace. To start off I would like to tell you our goal in the children's ministry, it is summed up by 2 Timothy 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. I want the children's ministry here at Grace to be more than just fun and games, it is my heart's desire to see our kids grown in the faith and knowledge of our Lord. I want to see them grow as Jesus grew, as it says in Luke 2:52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man. Our desire is to see them grow up physically, mentally, socially, and most importantly spiritually just as Christ grew up. We have different programs and teachers to help our children achieve this goal of being well grounded in the Word and work of the Lord. We have Kids4Truth on Wednesday nights that helps teach our children from the ages of 2 until 12 twelve doctrinal themes of the Bible that are the foundation of what we believe and why we believe it. It is founded totally on the Word of God (as it should be) and gives the children Biblical answers for what they believe. Preparing our children for what they will face spiritually by memorizing and applying God's Word will help them win those spiritual struggles that we all face everyday. We also have 3 different age appropriate children's churches in which the children are being prepared for adult church, they sing, take up offerings and listen as the Bible is opened and they are taught principals from God's Word.
Once a month we have activities for the kids to get together and have fun. Last month we had carnival type games in our annual Back to School Bash. The children earned prizes by winning points on each of the games that they played and all left with bags full of surprises. Before they left for the night they were treated to root beer floats and popcorn. We are in the process of planning our next activity for September, which if all goes as planned will be a great time for our children. So check back often during the next week or so to find out the when and where of our next activity here at Grace.
